Mercedes-Benz Trucks has completed delivery of 250 Actros vehicles to Iraq's State Company for Automotive Industry (SCAI), which will be used to assisting the country in various areas of reconstruction.

The deal between Mercedes Benz and SCAI was inked in Baghdad in February 2010 and the agreement clearly stated that these trucks would be used for reconstruction of Iraq.

All the 250 Actros trucks were built at Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, Germany and were exported to Iraq as completely built vehicles.

Out of total order, 100 were dump trucks while the remaining 150 were 3340S tractors used to carry fuel and water.

All of the vehicles are fitted with powerful Euro II V6 engines and a heavy-duty 16-speed transmission.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks head Hubertus Troska said," Our vehicles are perfect for use in rough terrain, where they clearly demonstrate their quality and reliability."
