6th December,news from Taiwan Fair Trade Commission.Everlight Electronics announced in advertisement that their LED products can save more than NT$20,000 electric charge for each customer per year.It is a misleading advertisement for customer on quality of goods and Everlight Electronics is fined NT$100,000
Taiwan Fair Trade Commission expressed that the saved electric charged referred in Everlight advertisement on basis of mading comparison between Everlight LED lights with 60W traditional incandescent lamps.And each customer shall use 25 lights which working10hours per day and the unite electric charge is NT$4.05.
However,as estimated,the average electric charge in Taiwan is NT$2.76 and the annual electric charge for each family is about NT$10140.So Taiwan Fair Trade Commission thought the advertisement is overstated.As Everlight has not expressed the necessary assumptions so that the customer may have cognitive errors or decision without calculation basis.The commission decided to punish Everylight with the fine of NT$100,000.
